Studio Senja opened in 2020. Our rule is simple: take on fewer projects. Give each one the attention a home deserves.
Our story
From rushed show units to rooms made for real life
Alia Rahman spent eight years designing show units. She worked for a large design-and-build firm. Every project was rushed, and every living room looked the same.
In 2020 she leased the floor above a picture framer on Jalan Kiara Hening. She opened Studio Senja there. The name means the hour when evening light goes soft. The studio now has three people. The sample library fills a whole wall.
The rules from day one still stand. We choose materials by touch before we draw anything. The designer who starts your home also finishes it.
How we work
What quiet design means here
Quiet is not a colour scheme. It is a room where everything has a reason to be there. Nothing asks for attention it has not earned. We remove before we add. We would rather leave a wall empty than fill it out of habit.
Materials come first. We study how light moves through your home across a day. Then we match timber, fabric and stone under that same light. Samples travel to your house, not the other way around.
During the build, someone from the studio visits your site every week. They send photos the same day. Small problems get caught early. You always know exactly where your home stands.
