About us
The salon with a quiet room
Fluff & Whiskers opened in 2021. We started with one grooming table and a bathtub. Our rule: the pet sets the pace.
Since 2021
It started with one anxious cat
Carmen Leong spent eight years grooming at a Petaling Jaya vet clinic. The anxious pets always stayed close to her. Her own cat Mochi was the most anxious of all. Mochi is a rescue cat. He hid under the bed for a full day after every wash.
This salon is what she built for pets like him. Cats have a quiet room, away from dogs. We use low-noise dryers. Sessions can slow down when needed. Daycare started in 2023. It is capped at twelve dogs, so afternoons stay calm.

How we work
Three promises to every owner
First, the pet sets the pace. We take breaks in every session. Nervous pets get the quietest slot of the day. We never sedate pets. If a groom cannot finish safely, we stop and call you. You do not pay for it.
Second, the price is settled at drop-off. We check your pet's coat with you. We agree what will happen and what it costs. That price does not change at pickup.
Third, you get clear updates. The photo shows the groom as it really went. Our session notes tell you what your pet found easy. They also tell you what your pet found hard. This makes the next visit gentler than the last.
The people holding the clippers
Everyone here was hired for patience first and scissor work second. The scissor work turned out fine too.
Carmen Leong
Founder and head groomer
Eight years grooming at a vet clinic before opening the salon in 2021. She takes most nervous first-timers herself. She often sits on the floor with treats in her pocket.
Syafiq Ramli
Senior groomer, large breeds
The calm hands behind every golden, husky and chow. He is known for long de-shedding sessions. He talks to dogs in a low, steady voice the whole time.
Ho Jia Wen
Cat groomer
She runs the quiet room. She has five years of cats-only grooming. She uses towel wraps, not restraints. No dog is ever near her table.
